Super 6 Saturday

What made my week so super, you ask???

1) Last Friday we took the girls to the local orchard. We had the playground to ourselves, and they had a blast running around. I even convinced Hubby to let me take them down the huge half-pipe slide (one at a time, in my lap). They loved it, and have been talking about the “bumpy slide” ever since!

2) On Thursday afternoon, I just needed to get out of the house. I decided to try my hand at sharing a snack with the girls in a restaurant – by myself – without the use of high chairs. They did great!!! They devoured a plate of nachos like perfect little ladies. (Oxymoron, much?)

3) On Friday, we went out for dinner to one of my very favorite restaurants, a shabby-chic café that serves the best homemade pizzas and uses mostly organic ingredients. The girls dove into a hummus appetizer like nobody’s business, ate a really fair share of our pizza, and topped the evening off with a bowl of fresh blueberries while sitting on the patio. I just love seeing my girls enjoying good food.

4) We were walking along a sidewalk by several store fronts. We passed a salon / spa and Baby A called out, “Topiary!” I had pointed out topiaries to the girls several times before…but who knew they were paying attention?!

5) Baby A has been doing the funniest thing when she’s being scolded. She puts her hand over her eyes, I guess trying to “hide”. It’s so darn cute, albeit a little maddening…but I so far have refrained from laughing.

6) Baby B has been cracking me up lately, too. I might say, “Are you silly?” And she’s consistently been responding, almost tearfully at times, “No! I’m [Baby B]!”

It’s always a super week in some form or fashion with my super-sweet baby girls!

If you haven't already done so, please enter my giveaway (open through July 7)!

Sounds like you and the girls are having a great summer!

Way to go high chair-less! That's a big step! And, don't worry. All ladies should know how to gracefully devour nachos! haha

That does sound like a super week!

It is so nice to be able to get out and enjoy things with the kids without the entire production it took when they were babies.

And, 'topiaries'?!?!?! Wow! Your girls' vocabularies are incredible.

I hope you guys enjoy your holiday weekend!

I love the covering the eyes....L covers his ears. I guess he thinks that will make it go away! Ha!

I love having good eaters, so I am sure you feel the same! That is awesome they liked the hummus. It is one of our faves too!

I hope hubby got pics of you with them on the slides! Priceless!

Happy weekend Mandy!

I always loved good eaters but never so much as when they're mine. It makes life so easy.

We had an afternoon date today, I bought back a tiny piece of fish and rice and they polished that off AFTER their supper.

Topiary! Gosh, Mandy, these little ladies are so clever!

I can't wait for the days without high chairs.

BTW, how often do you take the stroller these days? Ours is starting to gather dust and I LOVE that :)

hahahahaha. i love when kids cover their eyes and think that they're hiding. maybe she just doesn't want to make eye contact with you??

i was inspired by you this week. b and i took the kids to a cupcake store without a stroller. we walked in with plans to just order their 2nd bday cake and get a few cupcakes to take home. overall they did great, but started to have a meltdown when we had been there almost 30 min without eating an actual cupcake. there were all kinds of ladies (rude) who kept coming in and interrupting while b was ordering the cake. it seemed to take forever! BUT we did it without a stroller. :)

I'm certain even my 4 year olds don't know the word Topiary!

Love when they cover their faces like "if I can't see you, you can't see me!" ha!

Sounds like a very fun week. So nice being able to have your kiddos eat like big kids at a restaurant, right? I love that we no longer have to pack along kiddie food when we go out to eat. It's great to have kids that will eat pretty much anything.

"Topiary" is killing me! You're raising little Martha Stewarts! LOL

If you've conquered taking them out without high chairs, but could also try breakfast...we go once a month to Panera and they're very well behaved. I love taking them out now!
