Hitting Our Stride

We had another Great Family Saturday yesterday.

It just seems like we're hitting our stride...the girls are old enough to really enjoy our adventures, and it's just amazing to see everything through their eyes. Sometimes I just step back and think, this is what I always envisioned...family life at its finest.

Yesterday was Symphony at the Orchard. Before we made our way to the music, we had to check out the pumpkins...just our size!

And then we enjoyed a mid-morning snack...a fried apple pie. Yummy in our tummies!

(I took a picture to show everyone, since there were so many questions after our "fried peach pie" mention a few weeks ago!)

Then we enjoyed some tunes, courtesy of the local symphony orchestra. My girls love to dance!

There was a great hands-on exhibit, and the girls got to "feel" the music for themselves!

We checked out the pond...

...and then made our way to the petting zoo. We didn't actually pet the alpacas, but we did a lot of waving.

No trip to the orchard would be complete without a visit to the playground. The girls were beyond tickled to get to go down the "bumpy slide", as they call it. And Daddy even agreed to take some pictures of our decent...whee!!!!

The girls had a blast...and this mama did, too.

What a GREAT way to spend a Saturday...that age sounds like so much f-U-N!!!

The fried apple pie looks DE-licious!! Thanks for taking a pic as I really had no idea what you were talking about a few weeks back but now that I see it...I relate it to McDonald's pies BUT I am sure these are MUCH tastier! ;)

I love all the "family fun"!

And, I know exactly what you mean about seeing the world through their eyes...everything is new again :-)

Ditto Ginger's comment.

I also thought, "OHHHHH, like a McDonald's apple pie" :)

Looks delicious - I'm imagining it with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream :)

LOVE the pics of you whizzing down the bumpy slide with the girls

This looks exactly like what I would call a perfect day. And ... as usual, your blog gives me hope. We are starting to see some improvement with outings, but we still have a long way to go. Our fall "pumpkin patch" outing last year was a disaster. Hoping for something better this year. Glad you had such a wonderful family day!

Days at the orchard are the best! I thought about taking our kiddos today but Adam took a loooong, late nap and by the time he woke up, it was closed! We'll get there another weekend. We always go a few times each fall!

And yes - this is the age when life with the kiddos really feels just great! everything is new and exciting to them. Enjoy every minute!!

Glad you had a ball. I can't believe it is nearly fall but I am so excited for everything pumpkin!

This looks like so much fun!! We're taking the girls apple picking soon, and I can't wait! Our orchard has so many fun things to do like yours does. I think the girls are just old enough to enjoy it :)

Awwww! you and your girls really are enjoying each other. I can't wait to get to this stage. Is it me or is the bumpy ride a little of a pain in the you-know-where while you slide down? It looks like fun but I confess I'm an amusement park wimp so I wouldn't know

What a great event! I love that you went down the slide with them...I'm sure there's no way they were going down alone! That thing is gigantic!

Oh, what fun! Sounds like a great orchard with so much for families and little ones to enjoy.

We had hoped to pick apples this morning, but the weather was not cooperative. We'll try again next Saturday and hope that all the good ones haven't been taken! :o)
