I hadn't planned to post about 9/11 today.
I’d planned a post with a picture of my girls’ artwork…my sweet, innocent girls, to whom all the world is a wonder.
But how can I not step back and hug my family a little tighter today?
Our girls are far too young to have any understanding of what happened here 10 years ago. But one day, years from now, I’ll do my best to explain to them what it was like that day…
One day, even more years from now, I want to take them to the 9/11 Memorial. I want to take them to the Holocaust Museum. I want to take them to the D-Day Museum. And I know there are many more…
May we learn from our history…may we grow and prosper and strive…may we all move forward…but may we never forget.

I also want to take my children to remember our world's history in hopes that it may not repeat itself.
Blessigs and have a wonderful day with your family!
I completely agree. I was reading the news this morning with tears running down my face. Ky asked me what was wrong. I told him I was reading a sad story and I'd tell him about it one day, which made me cry more.
Amen!! We all need to love today and our love ones like it is the last! Never assume we have tomorrow! :(
Agreed...we must learn from this as much as we hate to let them think that someone wants to hurt them...it's important.
Absolutely! I want my own kids to know what happened, but when they are ready. I hope that they will grow up in a better world because of this. May we learn from our mistakes.
I just posted about this. A few friends seemed to not agree with me that i let my kids see some of the images today and talked about it with them. It was on a very basic level, but for me? its a must. My family was touched by this - we didn't lose anyone that day but both of my brothers could have easily been one of those people that day (Navy and Fire Fighter).
