My BFF Alison sent me a throw-back picture this morning from a weekend we spent with her and her hubby in Nashville in 2006. This was taken at the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar, one of our favorite Nashville dives for blues and rock-n-roll.
(It's not a great picture, but I'll confess that I just went digital before the girls were born. I have very few pictures online pre-2009. And this was such a fun surprise when it popped into my Inbox this morning.)
Hubby and I used to love to travel. Most of our travel was in the U.S....sometimes quick weekend trips, and sometimes week-long vacations we'd plan for months in advance.
We loved to see the sights and relax and eat. And eat. And listen to music. And eat.

Since the mid-point of my pregnancy, I can literally count on my fingers the times I've left the county.
Oh, how I miss going and doing!
But oh, how much am I looking forward to sharing our going and doing with the girls...minus the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar scene, of course. :)

I can't wait to start travel again with our twins either. Since my pregnancy I can count on one hand the number of times we left the state! and that too because we live at the border of a tri-state area.
B.C. - too cute! A lot of fun was had b.c. but my girls are at the fun traveling age so we love to travel with them. I love seeing things through their eyes
I love to eat out...like, alot. We've taken our girls with us pretty regularly from the beginning, but it's getting harder. I look forward to when they are a little older and will begin to enjoy doing different things (traveling, going to eat...even if it is McDonald's!).
I don't even like to leave the HOUSE, lol. There's just too much stuff to pack!! We're planning a real vacation in August, and I'm hopeful that it will be a positive experience and we will start traveling more and more!
....and we love to eat as well. we JUST went out for the first time at the end of May without kids! It was delish! ...and really made me miss good food!
I miss traveling! Since I'd lived on three continents by the time I was 19 (0-8: Europe; 8-18: Asia; 18+: North America), I always imagined I'd travel.
Lucas spends so much time away, he wants to stay home when he gets home. My travel has been limited to visiting Lucas' family in WA and OR and mine in MO since we got married 6 years ago. You'd think my trinational kids would have left the US by now!
I miss being able to say "hey, let's go out." Maybe eventually we'll be in that position again.
