My Snow Deer

Late last fall I ran into the most beautiful book, “LittleDeer Lost”.  It is such a sweet story about a set of baby twin deer, Silver and Sparkle, who have all sorts of adventures as they discover their first snowfall.

Yesterday, my baby twin deer got to have some “snow” fun of their own.

"Sissy...SNOW!!!"

I asked if they felt the snow on their noses, like Silver and Sparkle.

Quintessential Baby B.  :)

"See if you can make your owl hats kiss!"  [A ploy on my part, for sure!]

And then I challenged the girls to catch snowflakes on their tongues, just like Silver and Sparkle.  They thought it was hilarious!

When we got back home after a walk through the neighborhood, the girls followed in Mommy's footprints...just like Silver and Sparkle...and then B decided to see if she could wiggle off her mittens.  She found the exercise hysterical.

The girls knew there wasn't enough snow to attempt a snowman...but Baby A wanted to at least try a snowball.

And here's B, sans mittens, trying to examine a snowflake.
It wasn't much snow...but it did the trick.  The girlies got to pretend they were Silver and Sparkle, and this mama deer loved seeing her baby twins prancing about in pursuit of great adventure.

How wonderful. It looks like a great time was had by your little southern babies. I know snow is a rare treat for lots of us. The bright pink against the white makes for some pretty photos.

That said, this Texas girl is ready for some warm weather again!

I know it's still early in the year, but some of these pictures would qualify for picture of the year!!! Love! Love!! Love!!! And the one of the owls caps kissing should be on your Christmas card for 2013

Well, making the owl hats kiss sure turned into a cute photo! Great idea, Mama! : )

We had some snow falling this weekend, but nothing on the ground. Looks like we are out of luck again this year!

what fun!!

are these phone photos? or real camera? i always want to take pictures, but then don't have the camera.

or it seems too obtrusive or something. we're in DC right now and have done lots of fun stuff....but we have not taken a single picture with the "good" camera that came with us!

love these pics though! and so glad that you could have some snowy fun...even if it was mild!

Absolutely adorable pictures. We are still buried in snow here and 10 inches expected tonight through Tuesday. Can't say I have the same SMILES for the snow anymore this winter!

What precious pictures!!! What a treat for your girls and so cute after reading that story. :-)

We've had quite a bit of snow this year - not 'tons' but MUCH more than last year (which was a really mild winter). We've actually maxed out our snow days...hoping we don't have to make them up in June!
