The Best $3.99 I Ever Spent

Without a doubt, the best $3.99 I ever spent was on a set of stacking cups.

It's not much of an exaggeration to say that the girls have played with them every.single.day. for the last 18 months!

At 7 months, they made great teether toys and were perfect for grasping!

At 11 months, we played a lot of "Put the Ball in the Cup"...

At 18 months, Daddy discovered the fun of building towers with the girls, and the cups were the perfect foundation...

...and about that same time, the girls began to nest the cups themselves!

At 22 months, the girls really got into pretend play, and the cups were great to serve all sorts of foods and beverages to each other, and to Mommy and Daddy!

And just recently, the girls learned to make towers all by themselves!

The cups are great for counting, and I credit the cups with the girls having learned the color "turquoise" so early on.

I hope the girls will continue to find new ways to play with these cups for at least another couple of years. They've been such a part of our lives for so long, I can't bare the thought of parting with them!

First of all, well done on the catchy subject line :)

We also love our stacking cups - Connor now insists on taking them to church!

Your girls looked different when they were little babies but they look (to me) more and more similar the older they get :)

Another fan of the stacking cups here. Ours have made it into the bath for water play now. I agree with Marcia that your girls are looking a lot more alike these days :) I still think your girls are very clever. Turquoise huh? Mine still don't know red from blue!

Such cute pics!

We have those exact same ones, and my kiddos love them. They are currently used mostly in the bath, as it's lots of up to fill them up and dump them out and/or watch the water shower out of the small holes on the bottom. We were actually given two sets when they were babies, and I sold one set at our twin sale thinking, "who needs two of these?". Clearly, that was a bad move. I'm sure they'd love to have an extra set, but so far, we haven't needed to rush out and buy another one.

Confession!!
We have no stacking cups. Many cups, just no set of stack cups specifically. The girls love to stack those little pop-up stackers. I think I feel like a bad mom, time to invest!

We have a set of stacking cups that honestly is what got the twins to start crawling!! They used to love to knock them down so we'd stack them up just out of their reach...and they'd scoot and crawl to knock them down! I have video of both of the twins crawling and knocking them down right when they started. They used to race each other!!

They play with our cups in the bath, the sand table - stack, "eat", "drink" and play TONS with them!! such a great and simple toy!

It always amazes me how the simple toys always seem to be the best. We have stacking blocks that our girls love too. Just goes to show it's not about how much money you spend. Plus, its just about impossible to know what they are going to like and what's going to sit around the house. Great pictures, I love the striped pants in the last one. :)

How cute! I love all the pictures and the timeline that went along with it! I'll bet there are things in this house like that, but I doubt I've documented them adequately!
