Ahead of them getting here, I was trying to think about what E&L might like to play with. I called up what I think of as the couple of pictures that sum up that ~year-and-a-half age in my mind.
Here's one of my favorites...the girls were about 17 months old. It was rare to have caught them sitting still, AND in the same place!
We still have these books, but they're not in nearly as good shape. And those little books look so big against those tiny babies! |
And I can very easily remember our first trip to Kentucky Down Under, when the girls were just days shy of 18 months.
Baby A, signing "hat". |
Baby B, pointing to a cow. |
Our girls having been born in early January, I can vividly picture (at least so far) what big present they got for Christmas each year and how they reacted to it, and what adventures we had during a particular summer. It gives me an easy reference, at least in round figures, what they were like, at least every six months or so.
I know things will blur over time, but at least for now, it's a very sweet command to have...and it makes me feel -- at least in some little ways -- that their babyhood wasn't all that long ago.
I'm linking up with Miss Cheryl at Twinfatuation again this week for "Way Back When-esday". Thanks so much for the prompt to dig back through the picture books, Cheryl! :)

I love these pics when they were so little. And look how long their hair is now!!!
So precious, Mandy! And truly I think books were one of the very best means to get our two "semi-still" for a shot, too! Love the outdoor images.
Keep on looking "Way Back" with us on "When-esdays!"
Aren't the reveries fun?
