Just wanted to record a couple of random funnies that are
indicative of the times…
Baby A’s name does, in fact, begin with the letter A, and
Baby B’s name begins with the letter B.
My hubby and I would refer to them that way in conversation when they
were smaller, until they picked up on the code.
Occasionally we might now refer to them as Number 1 and Number 2, but
that just feels wrong. More often, when necessary,
I will call them Numero Uno and Numero Dos, as Spanish at least feels a little
less insulting (and they don’t understand those words).
We were eating dinner with some friends a couple of weeks
ago. Baby A asked to go to the
potty. As I was walking back with her,
Hubby meant to tell me that Baby B also needed to go. He pointed to her and loudly proclaimed, “Mommy…Number
2!!!”
I was rather alarmed, immediately thinking she must have had
an accident. But immediately thereafter,
I wondered why he would be announcing that to the restaurant.
No, none of that…he simply wanted to convey that, before I
sat back down, I should take our second-born to the bathroom.
Thank goodness the lighting was dim, as I’m sure my face was
as red as a beet. But even more
maddening??? That he saw nothing wrong
with his “announcement”!!!

We’ve made a few small trips over the summer, and I’ve often
found myself in the bar at the hotel at the end of the day.
Nope, (sadly) I wasn’t enjoying a cold one.
“Two milks, please!”
I have laughed multiple times at walking out, “double-fisting”
some 2%.
Yep, a definite sign of the times.

Don't you occasionally look at your life and think "How the heck did I get here?" :)
And, in Daddy's defense, #2 would always mean the second kid in a twin family... at least to me. But, wouldn't it be funny if your story was on someone else's blog - telling about how some guy at a restaurant they were dining in was announcing to the whole place that his wife had to poop. Hahaha!
LOL too funny!
And I love the way you get milk. I've been telling the kids we're going to go on holiday soon-ish (I'm busy thinking about Dec) and I'm planning to treat them like big kids.
Just this weekend I finally stopped sterilising sippy cups - yesss.
