Everybody Loves Curious George

We have oodles of Curious George books...four compilations of 8 or 10 stories, and quite a few single-story board books in addition to those.  They've been a big staple in our house almost since Day 1, and the girls can recite many of them by heart.

A relatively recent development is our kitty's love for the mischievous monkey.

This book is a new addition to our collection, as of this summer.  In addition to the great new adventures, its hard cover is especially silky, somehow...a real treat to hold.  Apparently Sasha thinks so, too.

While she's fond of lounging on the girls' puzzles and other tomes, she seems to love this book above any of their other toys.

Even after 3 1/2 years of big-sisterhood, Sasha doesn't make much of a habit of hanging around the girls' play area when they're jumping and singing and dancing.  But when they settle down with Mommy on the couch to read, or especially when they're safely engaged at the kitchen table for a meal or a craft, enter Sasha.

The girls have even started leaving this book out for her in a particular spot that she seems to enjoy.  That, and some calmness from A & B are the only invitation she needs to make herself at home.

We tell the girls, "Sasha loves you!  She loves your things, and she wants to show you!"

I hope that's a little bit of it...that, or Sasha really does have an affinity for that loveable monkey, George.
