…how something so small can make me so stinkin’ excited…
When I started trying to give the girls water, at around six
months old, I bought fluoridated “baby” water.
(I admit I’m spoiled to bottled water. I’ll drink tap water in a pinch, but I can
tell a real difference in the branded stuff.
We consume five or six gallons a week.
It may be psychological, but I figure it’s a small price to pay to keep
me properly hydrated.)
Forget that the girls refused any water…and any sippy cup…until
they were 15 or 16 months old. I held to
my convictions that they needed that fluoride.
Fast forward a couple of years, and the girls now love their
[fluoridated] water.
A few weeks ago, having made the switch to big-kid
[fluoridated] toothpaste, it hit me that I no longer needed to buy the special
gallons of water for A&B.
While it seems kind of weird to pass by that shelf in the
grocery store, this mama is some kind of excited about us all drinking the same
type of water!
Our refrigerator fits four gallon jugs in the door, and it’s
downright blissful to have freed up one of those incredibly valuable slots.
It sort of feels like I won a refrigerator makeover or
something!
The freedom! The
flexibility! The possibilities are
endless!!!
See…told ya it might just be a little bit sad. But it’s the little things, right??!!!

Very sad ...
But totally understandable :)
PS I told my kids that B & A are having a birthday party tomorrow and they're too excited!
"Can we go?"
"No, Babies, they're in America"
^ Same thing with our ladies Marcia!!
Hooray for shelf space! I have found that as the ladies have grown my fridge space keeps growing. They can now eat entire servings so there aren't as many leftovers! Now if only I had a bigger freezer!
Hope the quiche is a hit with the 4 and under crowd!
Happy Belated Birthday Girls! Congratulations Mama!
(I know I am late. That's how it goes with me these days!)
i love when that happens. i felt the same way when i was able to clear out the diaper space in the kids' closet!! the little things! :)
and, to totally gross you out: we totally drink tap water here :)
Awesome...
Hope they have a lovely birthday today and hope you are able to capture all the amazement in their faces when they realise what they are up for today
I totally get it!
I also buy bottled water and have since we started buying formula.
About a year ago, we started getting water service. We rent the cooler and a delivery guy brings 5 gallon jugs every month. It's cheaper than the gallon jugs and less recycling. Marty thinks it's crazy to pay for water, but he goes along with it because it's not as crazy as seeing me obsess about the potential trace lead amounts in tap...(yes, my head is a scary place...HA)!
Drink on!
