Playing with Pictures and Telling Stories

The Amazing Marcia is hosting a monthly photography link-up, and this week, the theme is "Black and White".

I didn't have a specific picture in mind, but I started playing around just a bit.  I love the way black and white pictures look...they can sometimes tell more of a story than full technicolor.

To state the obvious, I'm no photographer, but I still have fun seeing what I can come up with from time to time.

Here's the original picture I chose, taken a couple of weeks ago when we took the girls for ice cream cones...

My sweet B, enjoying her well-deserved treat, her baby blues glistening.

And here's the black and white version, cropped in a bit...

While I miss the gorgeous color of B's eyes, I noticed the smudge of ice cream on the tip of her nose for the first time.  I love those flyaway wisps of hair, and her precious fingers, that still hold a tiny bit of "baby-ness", at least to me.

The original picture captured my sweet kiddo, enjoying her ice cream, sporting her Bama shirt, getting ready to run off some energy in the park.

The black and white version is much more timeless, I think...a kid and an ice cream cone.

I think I'll print them both.  :)

LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEee - and yes, I find with black and white pics of kids, it takes away everything but the emotion of the moment which is just so perfect :)

Great pic of B!
