On this year's list:
It seems every day with twins is a mix of trials and triumphs. Certainly the triumphs...the joy, the smiles, and the laughter...far outweigh the trials. And another thing that's for certain is that it's ALWAYS interesting.

Father's Day Top 10 for 2014
The girls had so much fun making these conversation bubbles this week! I love this picture...a great addition to our Top 10 list tradition, I believe!
On this year's list:
10. You got us a beautiful house with an awesome basement, and we love sharing it with you!
9. You showed us how to milk a goat and took us to New Orleans…fun!!!
8. You are the master of Ne Ljuti Se Covece, Jenga, and Monkey in the Middle, to name a few.
7. You found the best place for sledding this winter and you posted yourself at the bottom of the hill to keep us from sliding into the rocks.
6. You take us to the Olive Garden for special Daddy-Daughter dates.
5. We enjoy sweet snuggle time with you when we watch Too Cute! and Aerial America.
4. You learned how to put our hair in ponytails (kind of).
3. You cut pineapples and melons better than anyone in the world.
2. You give us the best nose kisses and hugs.
1. YOU’RE OURS.

Happy Father's Day!
The girls helped me make stuffed crepes this morning. They seem to have an innate ability (perhaps coming from generations before them) to roll crepes. Filled with a sweetened ricotta cheese (which B said needed "just a little bit more sugar"), the girls were all too happy to join their daddy at the breakfast table, too.
The girls presented their daddy with this book, "Kisses for Daddy". We have lots of books about mommies and babies...but this is the first one truly focused on a daddy and his little bear cub. The girls loved snuggling with him to read...and I know he loved it, just as much.
We were running a bit behind this year, so we didn't have our traditional Father's Day handprints to present at breakfast. We had a fun time making our handprints today, though. Maybe we'll do a mid-week catch-up for that presentation.
We rounded out the day with one of Daddy's favorite meals, shrimp in Cajun cream sauce. The girls licked their bowls, and Daddy had two big servings himself.
Before bed we read "Kisses for Daddy" one last time. The girls bid their daddy goodnight, and wished him Happy Father's Day one last time.
It was a great day celebrating a great double daddy!

The "Top 10" for Father's Day 2012

Father's Day Top 10
I just love this idea so much, we may well do it as long as I can coax the girls into making handprints...which I think surely I can do until they're at least 20, right?
1. You help us build the best “structures” with our blocks, and the tallest towers.
I love how this list contrasts to last year's, which included things like "you give the best shoulder rides" and "you know the perfect temperature for our bathwater". And of course I love seeing how the girls' hands have grown in the last 12 months.
Happy Father's Day to my girls' sweet daddy! (And to my sweet dad, the girls' granddaddy, too!)

Delighted Faces are Daddy's Treat
But the best part of all? Seeing the delight on his baby girls' faces at seeing him through the window...

The Perfect Father's Day Gift
1. You taught us the fine art of nose-kissing.
2. You make us “fly” in the safety of your arms. “One, two, three…whee!”
3. You keep our high chairs nice and clean.
4. You make sure there’s always room for more dirty diapers.
5. You washed at least 10,000 bottles with love.
6. You give the best shoulder rides.
7. You know the perfect temperature for our bathwater.
8. You know just how to wrap us up in our duck and butterfly towels.
9. Your lap is nice and big and your arms are strong to hold both of us.
10. We love how you hold our hands and walk around with us and make us laugh.
11. You’re ours.
And the culmination of their efforts?
I think Dada's gonna agree this is the perfect gift (along with the baklava that Mommy is contributing)!
*Disclaimer: my girls aren't actually old enough to come up with "the perfect Father's Day present"...or if they are, they're keeping it as a secret between the two of them. Nor are they old enough to "beg" to finger paint...or to even know what finger painting is. No, it was Mommy who was so anxious to dip their little hands in paint (and they LOVED it!!!), and it was also Mommy who came up with the Top 11 list (but I feel certain they would agree, if only they could talk).
